For Students

SoundArts meets once a week on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Students should come to class prepared with script, pencil, and extra water. A light snack is provided. During class we vocally warm-up, sing, act, dance, sing solos, all in preparation for our upcoming production.

The Fall/Winter musical is usually a multicultural celebration of the season. The Spring session is longer which allows the curriculum of the musical to be studied in detail.

All students work together and support each other as a team. Student may be required to study outside of class in order to be fully prepared. Additional time is offered if needed.

How To Learn The Music

Learn the words: Read each line of song words aloud. Begin with one line at a time. Increase the number of lines each time you repeat the song until you can say all the words to the song.

Sing the melody: Listen to the CD selection. Repeat the selection and say the words in the rhythm of the melody.

Sing along: Sing along with the CD.
